CNC and router bits
Upcut promotes upward evacuation, downcut better protects the top face, compression combines both directions, O-flute targets chip evacuation in plastics or non-ferrous materials, and V-bits are commonly used for engraving or V-grooving.
Drill bits
Brad-point for wood, HSS or cobalt twist drills depending on metal, step drills for some sheet applications, and masonry or SDS bits for compatible mineral substrates.
Saw blades
Diameter, bore, tooth count and geometry, kerf and maximum RPM must match the machine and material.
Grinding discs
Cut-off, grinding, flap or diamond discs each have a specific application, material, thickness, diameter, bore and maximum speed.
A geometry name alone is not enough: always check dimensions, tool material, mounting and manufacturer limits.
